Union officer Robert E. Lee had a great decision to make concerning slavery, whether it was biblically moral or not. Although slavery was considered a political evil by many previous to the Civil War, its biblical institution had to be a deciding factor for moral acceptance among the Christians. When man perverts God's direction through subverting ways, including abolition of one of His institutions, it only brings greater evils. Even though Lee had some dislikes about slavery, fighting among the Japhethic peoples over the issue was not acceptable to him: He would not accept an offer from the Union to draw the sword against the Southerners. In this respect, he was more noble than Abraham Lincoln, who also didn't think of blacks as equals to whites, and suggested and initiated repatriation for the freed black slave after he authorized the Civil War.
