The Carnal Church and Unworthy Peer Pressure Brother Josh Bell Advisement It is not only the way a person presents his message that is important, but the substance of the message. Homiletics without Scriptural authority cannot deceive a wise man. A preacher without hermeneutic skills will not pass the test of Scriptural concentricity. A good Bible student can learn God's message from the Bible and can detect a speaker who teaches contrarily. We need more Bible home-schooling, more local Bible-outreach entities to teach our young so they will not end up in the clutches of erring men. 1 Cor. 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? (KJV) Our problem in America is that people are not only carnal but worse than the Corinthian church, they give deference to heretics rather than listen to men of God. Regardless they should not cause division even if they learn from true men. God has given his people gifts, and nourishment comes from those with these gifts because it comes from God. There is only one church—the body “called out”. We must look unto God and not men. The false and anti-Christian media even misuses unlearned Christians who have not learned to study the Bible for themselves, to seek and pray to God for enlightenment, to make better changes for their own walk with God and stand upon faith. Some who have been proponents of the deceiving so-called “Christian” media are: Mr. Oral Roberts, Mr. Jimmy Swaggart and his woman Frances, Mr. Donnie Swaggart, Mr. Billy Graham, Mr. Charles Stanley, Mr. David Wilkerson, Mr. Hal Lindsey, Mr. Jack Van Impe, Mr. Jerry Falwell, Mr. John MacArthur, Mr. John Piper, the out-of-place woman Joyce Meyer, Mr. Kenneth Copeland and his woman Gloria, Mr. Pat Robertson, the Roman Catholic Pope and many others. “Prophet” R.G. Stair recently repented of his remarriage. He spoke for decades living in a defiled relationship and according to a recent broadcast his followers endowed him with enough money to have radio stations reaching “24” time zones. Just think what good might have happened if that outreach had been in the hands of a group of Christians who knew how to administer clean living among communities and speak out against sexual defilement!
