Presentation The Land of Milk and Honey (Trying to find good food substitutes) People used to have good food Dt. 26:9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey. (KJV) Good eating: Even the Lord was served milk, butter, cake, and a dressed calf Gn. 18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. 6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. (KJV) Unfortunately, we do not have land that raises good cattle and crops in America like they had before modern technology came about. Our lands have been sprayed with chemicals. Our crops have been covered with pesticides. Our animals have eaten the toxic crops. So our food isn't as pure as it was in the old days. Chemically and technologically modified foods have caused people to get sick. Beware of Big Agri, Big Pharma, Big Retail and Big Wholesale: Government must promote food growth to help people live, not harm them for profit. We live under laws that prevent environmental harm to some degree, but still suffer the negligence of China and other countries that don't have the same standards that we do. What pollutes Japan one week may pollute the USA in a matter of months. At the least, our efforts should be focused on nutritional food and getting rid of toxic pesticides in our own land. Since we do not get good food with nutrition in it like we should and lacking toxics, I think I've come across a pretty good substitute for the milk problem. I haven't drank processed milk in a long time, but my teeth seem to be getting transparent so I may not be getting enough calcium. I can't really be sure, but from what I've read, yogurt may not be as good as fresh, organic, farm milk, but it seems to be better than processed milk as far as cultures go. So today I bought some plain yogurt and a jar of organic honey. I must admit I don't know exactly what makes up the two items or how they were processed. Nevertheless, I mixed a little honey in the yogurt to sweeten it without bad sugars and make it taste better. It was not bad. Actually, after finding the right mix ratio (just a little honey), it was delicious. Plus it filled me up. Also, I put a sliced banana in it. It tasted like a yogart-banana split. Hope this little experience and not fully tested experiment may be of some help to someone.
