An atheist is generally a person who claims to not believe in God. Personally, I believe all people (of an age they are able to understand) know that they were made by a creator (God); however, many may have never established a personal relationship with Him as their savior. The universe and “natural revelation” expresses to us (all people) the creative ability of our maker through the “things that are made” (Ro. 1:20). The “special revelation” or written revelation comes through the Bible, and the natural and special insight (different forms of expressive truth) spiritually agree. However, there may be adverse, psychological effects from physical abuse or anti-Christian religion that may distort a person's perception from what he may have perceived. The Bible says: Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: I am convinced that any so-called atheist who speaks against the existence of God and a Christian's beliefs is either through his ignorance of the Bible, his lack of geology and astronomy study in light of the thought of previous eternity of deity and the beginning of physical nature, or hypocrisy.
