A non-continuous sin does not exist after repentance. To the contrary, a continuous sin does. For example a person who became angry and used foul language would have committed a sin. Notwithstanding, if he confessed his sin, he would be cleansed (1 John 1:9) and the sin would no longer continue.

However, if a woman has sex with someone and then marries another man she commits fornication. Her sin of uncleanness continues as long as she remains married to him and her other man is still alive. Merely confessing she made a mistake previously but without a work of separation following is not true repentance and the sin continues.

Two types of purposeful sins
